Don't

Sydney and Vaughn arrived at the extraction point, a secluded cabin owned by the CIA, outside of Innsbruck, Austria as the sun was setting over the mountains. Vaughn looked at his watch, “We have five hours until pick-up, so you can relax and catch-up on some sleep.”

Sydney nodded. They had arrived before SD-6 to steal and replace financial documents for her mother’s organization, held in trust by a partner. The mission had been successful, but she sighed at the prospect of meeting Dixon at the airport to repeat the mission, this time stealing the fake documents. Vaughn opened the cabin door and let her in. Sydney dropped her knapsack on the floor by the couch and unzipped her jacket. She was about to plop on the couch and relax when Vaughn opened the side door and stepped outside. He left the sliding door open and Sydney was greeted by a blast of cold air.

She shivered and got up in mild annoyance to close the door but she stopped at the sight of Vaughn standing in the snow in the yard with a big smile on his face. She hardly got the opportunity to see him smile, so she stood there a moment and watched. Vaughn was admiring the landscape of mountains and trees when he turned and saw her watching him. Realizing that she was caught, Sydney stepped through the sliding door and closed it behind her.

“Why are you smiling?” she asked, smiling herself at his delighted mood.

Vaughn raised his hands to encompass the landscape. “I really miss the snow. I grew up a few years in France and….well, I don’t get too many opportunities to play in the snow in LA!” he chuckled.

Sydney raised an eyebrow at him and a look of mischief crossed her face. Before he even realized what she was doing, Vaughn found himself being thrown over her hip to land on his back, in the snow. “Well, you said you wanted to play in the snow!” Sydney exclaimed innocently. She turned her back on him to head back towards the door when she felt a snow ball impact on the back of the head!

She turned back around, in part outrage and part amusement to see Vaughn packing another snowball which he promptly let fly. She managed to bring her arm up to her face to block the projectile. It was a good thing too because it appeared that Vaughn had pretty good aim with snowballs.

“Are you sure you want to declare war with me, desk-boy?” she teased.

Vaughn’s eyebrows shot up. “Desk-boy, huh? Well if you’re too scared to--” Vaughn didn’t get the chance to complete his sentence because he was being thrown to the ground, again. “That wasn’t fair! I wasn’t ready.”

Sydney grinned in a rare moment of abandonment. “All’s fair in love and war,” she retorted before realizing the implications of her words. She quickly decided that the only way to erase her statement was to attack again.

Vaughn was just brushing the snow off his legs when he saw her flying through the air to tackle him. He managed to turn to the side so that she didn’t hit him straight on, but rather threw them both off balance and down into the snow. He tried to pin her down but she managed to flip him around on the ground so that he couldn’t use his weight. After several minutes of trying to wrestle her into submission, he decided to try a new tactic. When Syd tried to shift his weight so that she could scramble away he used her momentary distraction to pull off his glove with his teeth. He then took advantage of her open jacket to tickle her under her arm.

The squeal from her mouth told him that he might have found a weakness and he couldn’t help but laugh in victory. However, Sydney was not quite done. Vaughn had sat up, pinning her underneath his legs at her waist. She used her legs to hook around his shoulders and pull him back far enough so that he couldn’t reach to tickle her. Vaughn retaliated by twisting away, grabbing a leg of hers and twisting her body, face down in the snow. Finally after some fancy moves he wasn’t even sure he knew, he had her pinned beneath him, though it took him lying on top of her to do it. He suspected that perhaps she wasn’t trying all that hard to beat him.

Vaughn brought his face up and gazed into Sydney warm brown eyes. The awareness of their intermingled limbs and the realization of the close proximity of their faces were suddenly evident in his eyes. Sydney could fell the tension escalate as he continued to stare in her eyes until she could feel him on the verge of pulling back.

“Don’t” she begged.

Vaughn relaxed his back muscles to stop his ascent and looked at her intently before a small smile appeared on his lips. “Don’t what? Get up?”

“No,” replied Sydney her voice momentarily caught in her throat. “Don’t pull back from me.”

Her simple words seemed to break his will and all the built up tension from the last few months because his face came crashing down on hers. Their kiss was hungry and passionate and they were completely oblivious to the snow starting to fall. As their kiss continued Sydney brought her arm up so that she could hold his face. This was all the invitation he needed to bring his free hand under her open jacket. She twisted slightly to let his hand go under her back so that he could keep her close.

He rolled her over so that she was on top of him, so that she was not the one lying in the snow. She smiled and sat up on his waist. As he ran his hands over her legs, he could feel reality setting in for her. “Don’t,” he whispered.

She smiled at him mischievously. “What? Get up?” she asked.

“Pull back,” he begged. She leaned over to give him a deep kiss but then broke it after a moment. She stood up and offered him her hand to stand. He obliged her but did she did not release his hand after he was up. Instead she pulled him to the side door, opened it and pulled him into the warm cabin. “I know you like snow but I see no reason for either of us to get frostbite.”

She seemed to lose some of her confidence after he had shut the door because she stopped in the middle of the living room, still holding his hand.

“I can light a fire to warm you up if you would like,” Vaughn offered.

“Is it safe to?” Her voice carried with it the implication of a double meaning.

“Yeah, this cabin is rented out on a regular basis so anyone coming by would just think that it’s some more tourists.” Sydney smiled and nodded to take him up on his offer. Vaughn went back outside to get some cut firewood he had seen at the side of the cabin and before long he had a roaring fire going in the fireplace.

Sydney shed her jacket and boots and quickly sat near the fire to warm herself. Vaughn joined her after removing his.

“Are you sorry that we…” asked Vaughn bringing his legs up to his chest and staring intently at fire as he rubbed his hand together in front of it.

“No, are you?”

Vaughn shook his head, relieved and turned to face her. He used his now warm hands to cup her face and bring her into a sweet, slow kiss. It didn’t take long for the hunger to kick back in and Vaughn hesitantly ran his hand along the length of her leg, like he was asking for her permission to continue. Sydney responded by pulling her sweater off over her head. He quickly took advantage of her bared skin by trailing kisses down from her ear to her chest. He teased her by slipping his fingertip underneath her cotton bra and was awarded a small moan. He shed his own sweater and then scooped her up and put her on his lap. She smiled as her eyes and her fingers traced the outline of his muscles along his arms and chest, admiring the tattoo on his upper arm. She pulled his face towards her and kissed him passionately. He slid her off his lap to floor and undid her pants and pulled them off. He quickly shed his own before lying along side of her, the heat of the fire along his left side. He started kissing her again, but Sydney became impatient and unhooked her bra and wiggled out of her panties. Her nakedness alone almost pushed him over the edge and she smiled at the strong desire evident on his face. She realized that he was going to hold back unless she did something about it so she pushed him over and straddled him but this time over his hips, not his waist. He closed his eyes in an attempt to calm himself but then she started moving her hips, rubbing herself against him and he lost all control.

He flipped her back over, removed his boxers and explored her body with his tongue until she was moaning in ecstasy. He then climbed on top of her and entered her slowly. The heat from the fireplace was soon forgotten as they rocked each other back and forth. Soon Sydney was moaning and digging her nails into his back. This seemed to excite Vaughn even more and as he heard her climaxing he exploded himself. Drained and exhausted he collapsed on top of her.

After a few moments he propped himself up on one hand and reached over to the couch with his other. He managed to grab a throw pillow and the small quilt that had been left in the corner. He put the pillow under Sydney’s head and pulled the blankets over top of them. He then curled back down using the space between her shoulder and breast as a pillow. Sydney smiled as she pulled him close and they drifted into a peaceful slumber.

Vaughn awoke as the fire was dying. He sat up and looked around the small cabin. He smiled ruefully at the mess they had made of their clothing and then looked at the beautiful woman lying down next to him. His stirring had caused her to wake-up because she was staring intently at him.

“Don’t,” she begged as she saw him look around like he was going to get out of their make-shift bed.

Vaughn shook his head and said tenderly. “I won’t.”

“Get up?” she asked hesitantly.

“Pull back,” he said leaning to the side, his weight supported on one hand so that he could caress her cheek with his other and gaze intently into her eyes. “I couldn’t ever.”

She smiled radiantly back at him and answered softly. “Me to.”
